Agile Resiliency and Capability Improvement

Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) 2.1 is a program for process improvement maintained by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).

The program addresses three key areas of interest with respect to products and services: Development — delivery and maintenance, Services — establishment and management, and Acquisition — providing solutions by leveraging supplier capabilities.

CMMI is used as a framework for appraising the process maturity of an organization, identifying the following process maturity levels: Initial, Managed, Defined, Measured and Optimizing. Depending on the type of appraisal, an organization can be awarded a maturity level rating (1-5) or a capability level achievement profile.

Organizations that adopted the CMMI model have achieved noticeable improvements in cost and schedule performance, quality of service, employee productivity and customer satisfaction. They have been able to set process improvement goals and priorities, and integrate traditionally separate organizational functions.
