Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) develops quality assurance standards and facilitates technology-based programs that enable high-speed networks and accelerate next-generation Information and Communications Technology (ICT) innovation across all markets.
Service Provider Infrastructure
Structure and Equipment Quality Assurance
With a global membership of more than 400-member companies — ICT manufacturers and suppliers, network operators and service enablers, distributors and system integrators — TIA has created a vibrant ecosystem of companies delivering technologies and services that are revolutionizing the way the world communicates.
TIA Standards provide guidelines for private radio equipment, cellular towers, Voice-over-IP (VOIP) equipment, structured cabling, satellites, telephone terminal equipment, service accessibility, data centres, mobile device communications, vehicular telematics, smart device communications and smart utility mesh networks.
TIA-942 approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has become de facto quality standard for managed hosting providers in many industries. It presents an infrastructure topology for accessing and connecting elements in various cabling system configurations currently found in the data centre environment, and defines tiering based on the level of availability and security of a data centre facility.
