Customer Single Sign-on

ClientMajor Stock Exchange

Cloud-based single sign-on (SSO) is deployed for employees but modernization of clearing systems prompts for a client-facing solution. The SSO platform is enhanced with multi-factor authentication (MFA) and centralized access control, and extended to the customer community.

Case Study Overview

Initial State

Market participants are using a legacy solution to clear trading transactions, where user identities and authentication methods are managed by individual systems.

Target State

A modernized clearing solution is deployed on open systems, with both internal and external user access controlled by a cloud-based SSO platform. Identity Provider (IDP) managed registration and authentication are integrated with Service Provider (SP) enforced high-level authorization to access business applications.

The same SSO platform is integrated with different multi-factor authentication (MFA) technologies, each supporting software and hardware based one-time password entry. The result is seamless, low-risk way for customers to take advantage of modern clearing and depository services offered by the stock exchange.
